Anders Celsius’ Birthday
- Celsius was born on November 27, 1701, in Uppsala, Sweden.
- He was a Swedish astronomer who built the Uppsala Observatory and invented the Celsius (or centigrade) thermometer scale.
- He was the first person to make a connection between the radiant atmospheric phenomenon known as the aurora borealis, or the northern lights, and the magnetic field of the Earth.
