- Applicant innovators would be Karnataka origin (by birth or domicile), located anywhere in the world.
Award
- Prof. U. R. Rao Prize for best innovation/Discovery for Postgraduate Students
- Dr. S. K. Shivakumar Prize for best innovation for Undergraduate Students
- Prof. S Ayyappan Prize for best innovation / Discovery for Teaching Faculty & General Public
- Each award carrying a Cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a Certificate
- Awardees of these Awards during the last two years will not be considered
