Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA) is an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka. KSTA is a not-for-profit organisation established in 2005 under the chairmanship of the distinguished space scientist Padma Vibhushan Prof. U R Rao, Former Chairman of ISRO and Secretary of the Department of Space, Government of India. Since its inception, KSTA has been organizing many science educational and promotional activities across the State.
Since its inception, KSTA has been at the forefront of organizing science education and promotional activities across Karnataka. The Academy’s mission is to foster STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Mathematics) education at various levels of the academic spectrum while promoting scientific awareness among the general public.
In recognition of its significant contributions, KSTA was honored with the prestigious National Award for Outstanding Efforts in Science and Technology Communication for the year 2022 by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Tax Exemption to Donations
The Government of India has granted 50% income tax exemption to KSTA under section 80G, Clause (ii) of 2nd proviso to Sec.80G(5) of the income tax act, 1961. Please refer the following order issued by the concerned Department.
