Educational Qualification
Graduated from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore with B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) in the year 1987 and completed M.F.Sc. (Master of Fisheries Science) in the year 1989. Subsequently, completed Ph.D. in Aquatic Sciences from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore in 1995.

- Bachelor of Journalism (BJ) from ICFAI University in January 2010
- Post Graduate Certificate in Project Management from IGNOU in 2010
- Diploma Course in International Environmental Law offered by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in 2011.

- International Training in Fisheries Management at the International Agriculture Centre, Netherlands in 2002.

Professional Experience
- Worked as a Research Associate in an ecological monitoring project at the Department of Aquatic Biology, College of Fisheries, Mangalore, which is affiliated to the University of Agricultural Sciences from 16th December 1992-31st December 1994.
- Subsequently, joined a Private Tiger Shrimp Hatchery (Penaeus monodon) at Karwar, Karnataka as Technical Manager during 1st January 1995 – 10th January 1996.
- Research Associate for an ecological monitoring project at the Department of Aquatic Biology, College of Fisheries, Mangalore and worked from 10th January 1996- 31st March 1998.
- Consultant at a Tiger Shrimp Farm (Penaeus monodon) and worked from 1st April 1998 – 30th September 2000 at Karwar, Karnataka.
- Joined Karnataka State Remote Sensing Applications Center (KSRSAC), Dept. of IT, Bt and S&T, Bengaluru as a Project Scientist and worked from2nd April 2001 to 31st December 2002. Carried out projects related to coastal zone management, fisheries and environmental management, and water resource-related projects.
- Consultant Scientist at the Karnataka State Remote Sensing Applications Centre (KSRSAC) from January 2003 to May 2007, coordinated projects related to Integrated Coastal Zone Management for Karnataka, land use mapping within the Coastal Regulation Zone, water resource management, and fisheries development. Additionally, served as Coordinator for the M.Tech. course in Geoinformatics at KSRSAC from September 2004 to May 2007.
- Senior Scientific Officer from May 2007 to April 2018 in the Karnataka Science & Technology Academy (KSTA), Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of Karnataka. KSTA was established under the Chairmanship of distinguished space scientist, Padma Vibhushan Prof. U R Rao, Former Chairman, ISRO/ Secretary, DoS, GoI. The work involved promoting science and technology education at various educational levels through training programs, workshops, symposia, and conferences conducted across the state in collaboration with various institutions and universities.
- Promoted to Chief Executive Officer of the Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA) in April 2018. Since then, have been overseeing and coordinating all programs and activities of the Academy, with the support of its officers and staff. These initiatives span the entire educational spectrum—from high school to university level—engaging students, teaching faculty, and the general public. Successfully organized over 50 conferences and hundreds of training workshops and webinars across various domains.
During his five-year tenure as CEO, KSTA was honored with the prestigious National Award for Outstanding Contributions to Science Communication by the National Council for Science & Technology Communication, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India in 2022.
Published many scientific papers in reputed scientific journals and written popular articles in magazines and news dailies.
